Questions, answered.

The things owners ask us before they write - answered plainly, the way we'd answer them across a table.

What do you mean by “business owner net worth”?

The money you take out. The assets you hold outside the business. The time you keep, the opportunities open to you, and the state you're in. Most owners only ever look at the company's numbers - we look at what the company is doing for you.

How does Rare Company help increase my net worth?

Three ways. Your Circle digs into where wealth is being made and where it's leaking, every month. The Network puts owners who've already faced your decision around you before you make it. And we measure your net worth throughout, so you can see whether membership is paying for itself.

Is this about earning more now, building company value, or preparing for an exit?

Whichever you need most. For most members it starts with getting paid properly now, then building company value and cutting how much of it depends on you. Do that and an exit becomes something you choose, on your timing.

Who is Rare Company for? How do I know if I am a good fit?

Established UK owners running a real business with real numbers, facing decisions that affect what they earn, own and walk away with. If you're ambitious, open, and willing to give as much as you take, you'll fit. The interview settles it either way - and we'll tell you straight if it's not for you.

Where is Rare Company based?

Rare Company is British: founded, owned and run in the UK by Eddie and Astan. Circles meet in person in UK cities, and your numbers are tracked in pounds. We're not the UK arm of anything.

Is my company large or profitable enough to join?

The bar: £1 million+ turnover, or a multi-million exit behind you. Beyond that, what matters is that the decisions on your desk are big enough that the right room pays for itself many times over. Fewer than 3% of applicants take a seat.

What if my business is successful, but I still do not feel personally wealthy?

Then you're the reason we built this. A growing company and a flat personal net worth is the most common story we hear - and closing that gap is the whole point of the membership.

What if most of my net worth is tied up in my company?

It usually is - and that's the problem. One asset, in one economy, with your name on the risk. Members work on getting paid properly, building wealth outside the company, and growing a business that could sell - so the risk comes down without waiting for a buyer.

I am not planning to sell. Is Rare Company still relevant?

Yes. A business that pays you well, runs without you and grows in value is worth owning whether you ever sell or not. Sell and you get a better deal; keep it and you get the return every year. The work is the same either way.

I have already exited. Why would I join?

Two reasons. Whatever comes next - investing, buying, building again - goes better with the same table around you. And owners who've sold shape the biggest decisions in the room; your experience is worth a lot in here.

How do you measure whether my net worth is actually increasing?

We baseline everything when you join - your pay, the company's value, wealth outside it, your hours, how much depends on you - and update it at every review. You see the movement in black and white.

What happens in a Circle session?

Every session starts with the same question: is your company making you wealthier? Your numbers go on the table, your assumptions get tested, and you leave with commitments - which get checked next time. Chaired by a founder who has built and sold, in person, same owners every month.

How are members and Circles matched?

Carefully, after vetting. We match a ladder, not a mirror: peers at your level, owners a few years ahead, and founders who've finished the journey - so someone at the table has already faced what's coming for you. Never a direct competitor.

Do I have to disclose my company or personal financial information?

The room works because real numbers come out, but nobody forces your hand - you share what you're comfortable with, when you're ready. Most members open up faster than they expected, because it's the first room where doing so actually pays.

Is everything discussed genuinely private?

Yes. There's no published member list, what's said in a Circle stays there, and members who want anonymity keep it - including on this website. It's a condition of membership.

Will any of my competitors be members?

Not in your Circle. We never seat direct competitors together, and we check for conflicts before you're matched. If one appears later, we sort it - and you come first.

How much time does membership require?

One three-hour session a month. Everything else - dinners, breakfasts, the Slack, the quarterly experiences - is there when you want it. Most members say the sessions save time, because decisions that dragged on for months get made in an afternoon.

How is Rare Company different from Vistage, EO, YPO or a traditional peer group?

Focus. General peer groups work on you as a leader. We work on your net worth as an owner. Circles are chaired by founders who've sold, nobody in the room is selling anything, and the results are measured - your numbers, at every review.

What if I already have accountants, wealth managers, lawyers and business advisers?

Keep them - the good ones earn their fee. But your advisers have never sat where you sit, and they're not the ones who'll tell you whether their advice serves you or them. The room is owners who've paid for the same advice and will tell you what was actually worth it.

What does membership cost and how should I judge the return?

£1,000 a month on a twelve-month term, a clear business expense, nothing else to buy. Judge the return the way we do: your net worth, baselined when you join and measured at every review. And if the first ninety days don't convince you, you get every penny back.

What does the application and vetting process involve?

Five steps: you apply with a few key details; a video interview with Eddie and Astan; your fit is weighed against the room you would join; an invitation - or an honest “not yet”; then careful Circle matching. Every member is interviewed, researched and vetted, and not everyone who applies is accepted.
